Dr. Doug Makai is a board-certified anesthesiologist and the division chief of Obstetrical Anesthesia at 91porn Children’s Health, Delaware Valley. He is also the assistant medical director of OB Anesthesia for the Christiana Care Health System.

Why I Am an OB Anesthesiologist with the Advanced Delivery Program

OB anesthesiology provides me with clinical challenges that directly help patients by making a significant difference in the comfort and safety of our moms and babies. The ADP specifically allows for close collaboration with obstetricians, neonatologists and other specialists to provide care to moms with high-risk pregnancies. It is truly a privilege to help give our patients a safe and positive childbirth experience.  

What I'm Passionate About

I am passionate about providing the highest level of care that I can to our ADP patients. By combining my breadth of knowledge with longstanding clinical experience, I strive to treat every mom as a unique individual in order to provide the best possible patient-centered care.

How I Try to Make A Difference

I try to make a difference by continually looking into improving the system in which we provide care. Whether through my involvement with the Delaware State Maternal Mortality Review Committee or through leadership roles at Christiana Care and 91porn, I actively pursue clinical performance improvement efforts in quality, efficiency, and patient safety with a focus on being an advocate for maternal health.
