Get to Know Me
My past experiences have been significant for serving as a general staff anesthesiologist for more than 25 years at a major tertiary care hospital in Delaware. This has afforded me considerable experience in caring for a variety of patients with extensive medical backgrounds involving almost all surgical specialties. This experience also involved significant obstetrical cases, as would be expected in a busy tertiary care setting. I hope this vast experience will allow me to continue to provide the best possible care for the people of Delaware and the surrounding area.
Why I Treat Children
Although my responsibilities related to this current position requires care from the maternal side, I am always willing to provide assistance in pediatric care if the situation were to arise.
What I'm Passionate About
My passion includes trying to set the expectant mother at ease and providing safe care and pain relief during the delivery process through the delivery process. Effective communication is especially important for this to occur.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I think communication throughout the patient stay to allow the patient to understand what to expect is best accomplished by encouraging questions and communicating in a manner by which the patient is comfortable and reassured. As most procedures performed by me occur with the mother-to-be in an unsedated state, communication before and during the procedure is important. I also try to be well prepared and efficient to minimize any waiting time, as that can also increase anxiety.
